2018 June Horse Camp
New Specialized Program June 24 -28th, 2018!
For the first time ever, Oswegatchie has the ability to offer a special 4 day & night horse camp before summer camp begins. You will practice & learn about horse care, saddling, grooming, and riding. This is for an exclusive group of 10.
These intensive 4 days are good for advanced beginners and moderately experienced riders. Most trail rides will be easy going loops on our trails and to remote locations not typically visited during a regular week of camp. Expect manual labor, heavy lifting, and early mornings. Bonus Content may include visits from a veterinarian and an equine dentist.
During rest time for horses, campers will get to spend time on the ropes course, paddling on Long Pond, and taking advantage of other camp activities. Campers will stay together at a campsite and spend time as the first group of the summer season.
The program will be overseen by our 3rd year Horse Director Emily C.Statham. Emily is a finishing her Associates Degree in Equine Science at SUNY Cobleskill. She has been instrumental in making improvements to our horse program over the past few years.
All campers will need to submit the Oswegatchie Health Form. That form can be brought the day of camp.
