Summer Camp Employment and the Why of Camp
Welcome to our Summer Camp Employment page. On this page you will find everything you need to apply for work at our camp. If you are a first time applicant to work at a summer camp, please watch the video from Camp Tecumseh in Indiana posted at the bottom of this page. They have distilled the essence of what it means to work at a summer camp and the "why" camps are important.
Summer Employment Applications
Staff applicants need to be at least graduating from high school the June before working at the camp. Due to our teenaged campers, the age and maturity of staff is a major factor. Base counselor staff pay starts at $350 per week. The job includes room, board, and staff training, which all adds real value to the job. Specialized staff have a higher pay scale, such as medical staff. We are looking to start making hiring decisions on February 1, 2024. We are taking applications for Summer 2024 and are always looking to connect with those interested in employment at Oswegatchie!
The primary employment range is June 14th - August 9th, 2024. This is 8 weeks of employment. Additional work opportunities exist before and after summer begins.
When applying, you will need a resume, cover letter, and references ready to upload as files.
